Editing The Default Post
In this 10 minute WordPress video lesson, we will edit the 1st generic default post. You see, if you installed WordPress using GoDaddy, your front page displays a post titled "Hello World". But you probably want it to be filled with content that better reflects who you are.
But before we edit the post, I will walk you through step-by-step making a couple changes to some things in your WordPress Dashboard that will help improve the way your website presents it self to search engines like Google.
Don't worry if you don't understand the changes I make to WordPress Permalinks. And don't worry if you don't understand why I am installing the All-In-One SEO Pack and why I chose the settings I did. You can just mimic my keystrokes and get good results.

Domain Names and Hosting
After you figure out what Domain Name is best for you, it is time to buy your Domain Name AND Hosting. I am presenting what seems to be the most popular two domain name and hosting companies in the United States - GoDaddy and HostGator. (choose GoDaddy OR HostGator, not both).
Both GoDaddy and HostGator have excellent hosting options at good prices. Both provide excellent customer service 24/7. I have used GoDaddy for years and been quite happy. Recently, I tried HostGator and have found the account setup and website installation to be quicker and easier. Either will do.
But if you have a gripe against one, just go with the other. GoDaddy appears to be slightly cheaper. But some oppose GoDaddy's use of boobs to sell domain names on Superbowl Sunday... or was it Bob Parsons killing the elephant for sport while simultaneously feeding an African tribe?
Anyway, in today's lesson, there are 2 video lessons to complete if you choose GoDaddy or 1 video lesson if you choose HostGator. After your first few lessons, whether you chose GoDaddy or HostGator will really be transparent and insignificant.
